E. C. Thompson is currently a Texts & Technology PhD student at the University of Central Florida. He holds an MA in public history from Georgia Southern University. His bachelor’s degree in history is also from UCF and included a minor in Florida studies.
His thesis work at Georgia Southern examined the legacy of the Lost Cause of the Confederacy in public art in Augusta, Georgia. Of particular note is his argument for the use of photogrammetry and 3-d models of monuments as an avenue to facilitate monument removal. View the entire AugustaMonuments project here.
